2014 Year in horror (Thus far)

2014 has not been a great year for horror Cinema. At least not for the major studios. Big budget films such as Annabelle (2014) New Line Cinemas "hurried" follow up to last years "The Conjuring" were massive disappointments. However there have been some gems in the independent markets.

Some of the standouts for us this year have been Eric England's "Contracted" which was released on DVD last November. Jourdan McClure's "Children Of Sorrow" which included a highly disturbing performance by Bill Oberst Jr. as cult leader Simon Leach. "Deliver Us from Evil" Written and Directed by Scott Derickson and Produced by Television legend Jerry Bruckheimer was one hell of a demonic ride.

We also enjoyed "The Purge: Anarchy" The successful box office sequel to "The Purge" and last but not least. "The Taking Of Deborah Logan" This gem of an indie kept us on the edge of our seats with strong performances by Jill Larson and Anne Ramsay. This film was a literal gut punch of creep and suspense. We look forward to what else 2014 has to offer!
Keep an eye on our Facebook page Mansion Of The Macabre for upcoming reviews of each of our selected films. As well as interviews with some of the films stars. Stay Tuned!
